The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.
SASSA will be rendering expert services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it can be alarmed with regards to the higher number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area regularly. The company level designed for intervention activities a substantial influx of likely beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to allow the servicing of all clients SRD and improve access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
